Cronod starts with a simple idea: the stories and details you collect should stay yours.
The mobile collection lives on your device
The core mobile app uses local storage and works offline without an account. The website cannot read or edit that collection. Cloud sync and public passport sharing are planned and are not enabled.
You choose when to make a backup
Mobile backups are exported and restored with a passphrase. Keep the passphrase and backup file somewhere safe. The local collection database itself is not separately encrypted by the app; it relies on private app storage and device protection.
Your Cronod account
Cronod email/password accounts work on the website and mobile app. The backend stores your name, email address, a salted password hash and session records. Passwords are never stored as readable text. Website sessions use encrypted, HTTP-only cookies for up to eight hours and are checked with the backend. Signing out revokes that session. Account sign-in does not upload your private collection.
A quiet website
Google website sign-in remains separate from your Cronod email/password account. Google shares your name, email address and profile picture. This Google sign-in uses encrypted, HTTP-only browser cookies for up to eight hours, without a website authentication database. Signing out clears those cookies. Cronod never receives your Google password. Appearance is saved in this browser and can be changed in Settings after sign-in. Language preferences are also saved. The website has no waitlist, advertising or analytics integration. The host may process request information to serve the pages.
Sharing should be a choice
In Business, owners can explicitly publish a watch listing with selected public specifications, price, an optional cover photo, and separate seller contact details. These are stored by the Cronod backend and shown on the website and mobile app. Changes sync while the mobile app is open and online. Removing a listing, recording a sale or deleting the backend account removes the public listing when connected. Private costs, serials, notes, documents and receipts are excluded. Full collection sync and public passports remain planned.
